Picture Tour of our Camper

Picture Tour of our Camper

I’ve had several people ask me when we’re going to post pictures of the inside of our camper. We took some

pictures a while back. I’m just now taking the time to write it up, so here we go!

I’ll start with the bedroom. The first thing we did when we got the camper home was take out the mattress that came in it. It was basically a piece of styrofoam about 5 inches thick. I guess it was a mattress in the strictest sense of the word, but to call it that seemed a disservice to actual mattresses. We happened to have a queen sized sleep number bed in our spare bedroom, so we took apart the base for that and moved the mattress and air pump into the camper. I had to drill a couple of holes in the platform for the hoses to go up through, but it actually works out really well. The mirrored doors on each side above the night stands are closets where you can hang shirts and things. Neither one of us are much for hanging shirts up as we both just wear T-Shirts the majority of the time, so we got some plastic drawers from Target and stuck those in there to put our shirts in. The cabinet above serves as our dresser. We do not like having a TV in the bedroom, so we use the TV backer to hang the Wifi router and the Vacuum cleaner.

Here, we have the fridge. It’s not quite full size residential, but it’s close. It is big enough to hold about a month’s worth of meat and other necessities after a trip to Sam’s Club or Costco. It is a 12 volt fridge, which means it basically runs on the house batteries. We’re usually plugged in to power, so that keeps the batteries topped off. The nice thing is, since it does run on the house batteries, it keeps the food cold while we’re driving. No need to worry about things spoiling on long drives.

Next, we have the living room/dining room. In its normal configuration, it’s just a couch! A pretty comfy couch, at that. Lots of storage underneath. Storage is at a premium, so every little bit is a blessing.

When it comes to cooking and dinner time, it becomes a dinette! We use the table for extra prep space and then as the dinner table. The table stores underneath the sofa.

Once we get it set up, it looks like this! We eat dinner here unless it’s nice enough to eat outside. Once dinner is done, it’s a staging station for dish washing. I keep thinking about making a smaller table to have up at other times because using the sofa during the day with the table up is kind of annoying. It pivots, but it’s still pretty much in the way unless you’re actively using it.

After dinner, we take the table back down and the sofa folds down into like a small bed. We stretch out on that to watch TV in the evenings. I would definitely not want to sleep on this for an entire night, but for evening lounging, it’s great.

Continuing our trek toward the back of the camper, we arrive at the bathroom. The shower is huge (for camper showers.) In fact, the shower was a fairly big deciding factor in choosing this floor plan. We toured a ton of campers that had showers barely big enough to squeeze into. This one is actually larger than the showers in some of the apartments we’ve lived in. Lol. The camper only has a 6 gallon water heater, so we put in a water saving shower head. We keep reading in Facebook groups about people only being able to take 3 to 5 minute showers. We’ve never had that issue, thankfully. I don’t think we’ve ever ran completely out of hot water.

The bathroom also has a large closet beside the sink. We keep jackets and hoodies in the top. Shoes in the bottom. We play rock/paper/scissors to see who has to open the medicine cabinet after we’ve moved. Everything usually falls out the first time the door is opened. LOL

Then we have the TV and electric fireplace. It’s a 42″ TV. Plenty big because we can only sit about 8 feet away from it. The fireplace has no trouble heating the entire camper unless it gets down in the lower 20s. Then the central heat has to lend a hand.

And there you go! That’s pretty much every inch of the inside! All 240 square feet or so.
